Brooke
I’ve come from a privileged life and an even more privileged upbringing. My parents taught me right from wrong and everything in between… except I wanted the gray area. I wanted to live life on the edge with the possibility of falling over. I didn’t care about the consequences because I had no heart…
I left that on the floor of my parents’ bedroom door, shattered.
And never went back to pick up the pieces.

Devon
Family first.
I learned the meaning of the word hate.
I learned that life is a battlefield and I stood frontline.
I learned that praying doesn’t work and God doesn’t listen.
And I learned how to be a man…
All at the receiving end of my father’s fists, my mother’s tears, and my sisters screams.
You can’t run away from your past…
It will always find you, especially when you’re asleep.

Warning: Book contains adult situations.

Sex/language. Mature readers only.

I was there, but I wasn’t.
I danced around in a sea of emptiness and longing, it moved around me easily, carelessly, harshly.
It was all and it was nothing.
It made me full and it made me empty.
It pleased me and it dismayed me.
I didn’t care. I was there to do a job. To be a VIP. I played my part beautifully, just as I always did. Letting myself get taken away on empty promises of nothing, but somehow seemed like everything.

Tempting Bad is about two popular secondary characters from the VIP Trilogy. Brooke and Devon share a very close friend, Ysabelle, and have gone years without actually meeting one another up until the last VIP book where they then become very much acquainted. **raises eyebrows** Brooke is a VIP. Devon owns a bar. So here is a quick background on what is VIP: Very Important P*ssy, an exclusive escort service to extremely wealthy from around the world; sheiks, politicians, princes, celebrities, Doctors. I know what you’re thinking…Yes, this includes both men and women.

Brooke is a woman use to getting what she wants from the opposite sex just as Devon is a man of equal standing when it comes to women. He owns a bar in Miami and he’s HOT so as you can imagine he’s being hit on constantly. However his main problem is that he takes the women home. Brooke on the other hand does not take work home, she has a penthouse to play in. **wiggles eyebrows**

Alright so here is when things start to get interesting, after meeting these two hook up. During these hookups a friendship develops. Devon manages to have Brooke do something she has not done in years, take the heels off and wear *gasps in mock horror* SNEAKERS. No but really he allows her to let her hair down, to not always be in VIP mode, to instead be in Brooke mode. Though Brooke catches on quick she is far from ready to tuck away her f*ck me heels. In fact as things begin to unfold Brooke sets her sight on the crown. She wants to VIP.

My Sweet and Sour
My Sweet - I LOVED the way these two accepted one another flaws and alllll. And trust me there was a lot going on.
My Sour -This one scene where a breaking point is reached…It just shattered me to pieces. Like my whole being just shattered as the exchange went down.

What Readers should know : Both Brooke and Devon’s characters are introduced in the VIP Trilogy. While a small part of this story could be considered a minor spoiler to some I do believe this book can be read as a standalone. Honestly a TON of things happen in the VIP Trilogy so getting this one piece to a huge story overall would not ruin the experience the book has on readers

My Thoughts
M. Robinson NEVER disappoints me and if something is off and not flowing right within the story or with its characters…well, I just tell her. LOL! No but really, I was immensely taken in by these two characters. That’s her strength when writing; she nails her characters. You meet them and get an understanding of what they want, desire, need even when they can’t see it, even when certain things have yet to be revealed. She tells the story with dual alternating points of view so that we are able to get in to a character head. Readers will often find themselves invested immediately.

The writing is hard hitting, she prefers to hold no punches and tends to go straight for the wind pipe with her hits. The direct approach mostly, giving you characters that are forward, honest and approachable though not willing to fully give their self to another…Thus creating a bridge to one of the conflicts present between the couple. The flow is face paced, yet careful and dare I say methodical. Yes, I believe I can as each character and their experiences are well thought out.

WARNING: This author has NO PROBLEM with pushing her characters’ to their limits right along with your sanity. Don’t say I never warned you. **insert sinister laugh here**

My Ratings
Characters- Seductive in every way
Writing Style- steamy, vividly descriptive, emotionally charged and WILD
Plot/Storyline- A guy falls for an escort and her for him. But what she wants does not exactly line up with what he wants. And the past comes up uninvited to bite them in the butt. Can they have true love and survive the storms that come to take them out.
Steam Factor- Lo-Med-Hi I say High, On a scale of 1-10 I say 10+++
Entertainment Level- On a scale of Lo-Med-Hi I would say HIGH
Overall- I loved love LOVED it!

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it!

M. Robinson loves to read. She favors anything that has angst, romance, triangles, cheating, love, and of course sex!

Review: Quiet Angel by Prescott Lane

We all have that someone we can’t forget, the summer it all began, and the sleepless nights wondering what went wrong.

For Gage Montgomery, that someone is Layla Baxter. When he was 18, he took one look at the chocolate-haired bookworm with porcelain skin and knew his life would never be the same. But it all came crashing down when Layla suddenly and mysteriously disappeared from St. Simons Island -- leaving him with nothing but her angel wing pendent around his neck. For 12 long years, Gage couldn’t shake what happened, if he’s the one to blame, wondering where Layla might be. When their paths finally cross, he’s determined to get the answers he’s spent his life searching for -- and to get the girl, too. Quiet Angel is a story of hope, survival, and lost love made new again.

“I missed you, too, but you were never far.” Gage touched his shirt with the wings inside. “You were always there.”

Gage and Layla met one summer when Layla arrived on St Simons Island to holiday with her grandmother.  Gage had never seen her there before and he had been coming to stay on the island for years.  He is intrigued with Layla, she is a bit shy, loves to read and is really cute.  They strike up a friendship which leads into a sweet  summer romance between them.  Until one day Layla is just gone.

Layla has had a pretty harrowing past, terrible things happened to her in her childhood home that no child should ever have to go through and there were no adults in her life that she felt she could trust or turn to for help.  The summer she spent with her grandmother was the best of her life and changed her for the better.

Twelve years later she is about to board a flight and right in front of her is Gage.  The years have been kind to him and he is even more handsome than she remembers.  He is a successful businessman and looks amazing.  Gage cannot believe it, he was  devastated that Layla had left with no explanation and has always wondered what happened to the sweet girl he called 'Angel.'  Gage is determined to get answers from her.

Layla just wants to get on with her life, she has her own business and is finally in a place where she has found peace with her past.  Seeing Gage again rattles her a bit and brings back all the feelings they shared so many summers ago.

Can these two open their hearts to each other once again and get the happy ever after that they both so deserve?  This was a really sweet story of second chance love.

            I give this 3.5 stars

Review: Mismatched by Elle Casey & Amanda McKeon

            https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20327349-mismatched

Former college roommates, Erin and Ridlee, leave Boston for Ireland to track down an inheritance and end up at a matchmaking festival in Lisdoonvarna. Ridlee's a newly minted attorney, and Erin's part owner of the Pot O' Gold Pub, hoping to buy out her new, mysterious partner, some old Irish guy she'd never heard of before the reading of her late grandmother's will. It seemed like it would be an easy thing to do: show up, find the guy, and make him an offer… But the magic that is Ireland and the people who speak the lilting Irish brogue are as unpredictable as the weather, and things get a little more complicated than the girls anticipated when the town's legendary matchmaker pulls out his leather-bound book and proposes two matches…

I love it when I come across a story that is nothing like anything I have read in the huge abyss of the book world. This book is the perfect read when you just want to rug up on the couchand get lost in a great story.

Erin has spent the last few years working her ass off in a pub owned by her grandmother in downtown Boston.  She has pretty much single handedly turned the whole business aroundand growing it into a successful bar.  The Pot 'O' Gold pub is where her future is. When her grandmother passes away she has the rug pulled out from under when she is informed that only half of it is hers and the other habeen left to some old guy in Ireland.

Erin convinces her lawyer friend Ridlee to accompany her back to her home country of Ireland to find this other person so she can buy them out and rightfully own the pub as hers.

"Me god where are we?  Did we just travel back in time or what?" I'm staring out over mist-covered green fields, outlined by low stone walls that must have been erected over a thousand years ago and possibly by elves - Ridlee

Obviously this is a huge culture shock for Ridlee as she meets Erin's family and tries her first pint of guinness.  Then there are the pub crawls, where they meet the village matchmaker and enjoy some irish music.  What about those irish men though?  There is nothing metrosexual about these men, they are pure, salt of the earth, rugged and freaking sexy.

"When I seem him in profile, I think that Ireland's tourism board should put him on a postcard.  This country'd be overflowing with tourists every day of the year." - Ridlee

This is a crazy adventure for Erin and Ridlee as they try to track down the mysterious half owner of the Pot 'O' Gold pub.  One of them has hot unforgettable one night stand and one of them gets offered to ride a guys 'big dick.'   Plenty of guinness is consumed, singing and dancing on the tables also features on their 'things I probably shouldn't do when I'm drunk' list.  And one of them leaves such a lasting impression behind them in Ireland, that a bit of Ireland follows them home.

There are so many laugh out loud moments in this story, I loved it.

            I give this 4 stars
